ERROR[250] res_config_mysql.c: MySQL RealTime: Failed to connect database server astbill on localhost

Message is recorded everytime the Server is booted. Any ideas ?

I have checked all forum topics relating to res_mysql.conf and made sure that mysqld.sock path is referenced corretly in all places.

I am running latest v.17 with all database updates correctly in place including latest updates to modules (eg astadmin, astcallcard, astpbx, tenantbill, astphoneuser).

Not tested creating and calling from any accounts yet - but just wondered what this message is all about ?

I don't have the directory /usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql

Hi
This error came across when i first install astbill. I correct it like this
add the following line to /etc/ld.so.conf
/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql
then run ldconfig
Hope this will solve your problem

read the "how to configure mysql for astbill"

Try to read the document on how to prepare mysql5 for astbill in the manula section.
In it you will find how to grant priviledges to astbill.
